OnceBefore pre-release privacy notice

This notice describes the current mobile implementation. It is not yet marked as the final store-submission policy because support-mail operations and final release-network checks remain under review.

Scope

This notice applies to the OnceBefore mobile app being prepared for iOS and Android. It does not replace another HomiSoft app policy and does not describe a future hosted web player.

Data stored by the app

OnceBefore can store imported originals, editable projects, reviewed practice releases, progress, bookmarks, private Reality is different notes, reading settings, local rollback copies, temporary files, and a local management PIN on the device.

No name, age, diagnosis, address, or HomiSoft account is required. The app has no developer-operated user-content upload API.

Photos, camera, microphone, and files

The app requests access only when you choose photos, take a photo, record an optional explanation, or select a file. Chosen material is copied into app-managed storage for the project or operation you started.

Public practice and editable-copy exports use reviewed derivatives. Private originals, personal progress, notes, and editing history are excluded from public practice files. An encrypted personal backup deliberately can include private content.

Text recognition and system services

Android text recognition processes selected image content on device with bundled Google ML Kit recognizers. Google ML Kit may separately process SDK diagnostic and usage metrics. The final release dependency and network disclosure mapping is still a release gate.

Read-aloud uses operating-system speech services. Android selects voices marked as not requiring a network; iOS uses the system speech synthesizer. System or third-party voice behavior is governed by the selected service.

Sharing and external copies

Nothing is uploaded to HomiSoft when you merely edit or practise. A file or reviewed support text leaves the app only after you choose a destination in a system sharing, file, or email interface.

Once shared, copies are controlled by the recipient and destination. OnceBefore cannot remotely recall them. Operating-system device backup can also store app data according to device and account settings; this is separate from an encrypted personal backup.

Purchases

Optional Creator Lifetime purchases and restoration are handled by Apple or Google. OnceBefore can check and cache an entitlement but does not receive payment-card details. Store transaction records and refunds are managed by the relevant store.

Support messages

When you explicitly send email, HomiSoft receives the address and content you send. The in-app report preview attaches no practice file, image, recording, private note, progress, device diagnostic, or original automatically.

The operator is still confirming the support-mail provider, authorized access, retention, and deletion practice. Those facts must be added before this notice becomes the final store policy. Do not send passwords, unnecessary sensitive information, private originals, or information about a child.

Children and protected practice

OnceBefore is designed for adults and for children practising with a trusted adult. A protected child-practice arrangement keeps external links, purchases, new files, creation, and sharing in a local management area.

The local PIN is a device access control, not verified parental consent, a separate user account, an age check, or legal-compliance certification. Regional children's-data obligations and final store audience declarations remain release-review items.

Retention and deletion

App-managed local data remains until it is removed with the relevant history, trash, cleanup, or erase-all controls, subject to completion of file cleanup. See the data-deletion page for the exact local steps.

Local deletion does not delete Photos-library originals, exported backups, operating-system backups, recipient copies, support messages already sent, or store transaction records. Manage those with the relevant service. No OnceBefore account exists to delete.

Security and limitations

Encrypted personal backups use a user-supplied password that HomiSoft cannot recover. Password protection does not prevent a recipient from forwarding content after opening it.

Implementation review is not an independent security audit, legal approval, medical claim, or guarantee that every system service sends no diagnostic information.
