Privacy and Data Ownership

PetTimeline has no HomiSoft backend, account, login, cloud pet database, advertising, analytics/tracking SDK, social/community surface, generative-AI API, or subscription. The local database contains records and metadata; selected document/photo bytes live in private app storage. The app works offline for viewing, editing, reports, CSV, and basic backup/restore.

| Data | Storage/control |

| --- | --- |

| Health records, contacts, microchip, expenses | local iOS Core Data / Android Room snapshot |

| Attachments | app-private storage, checksum-verified in backups |

| Reminders | device-local notification/alarm APIs |

| OCR | on-device platform framework; suggestions require review |

| Purchase state | Apple/Google store transaction entitlement only |

The current release configuration excludes PetTimeline’s iOS application-support directory from automatic OS backup and applies file protection after first user authentication. Android disables automatic backup and data transfer, with database/file exclusions in its data-extraction rules. A deliberately exported .pettimeline file remains under the user's destination choice. Biometric lock and encrypted backup are optional Pro protections, not a prerequisite to access health history.

No screen should claim that local data is encrypted at rest unless its platform configuration has been audited for the installed build. Store App Privacy and Google Data Safety declarations, final privacy-policy URL, and legal retention/deletion wording require release-owner review.
